Zane Beg


Zane is a shining star in cake decorating with no formal training and an unlimited creative sense. He has worked on cakes for sixteen years and showed no sign of slowing down. He loves to work on cakes that have great movement and flow to them. He is famous for his White Chocolate Curl Cake and his three-dimensional chocolate figurines. Zane enjoys traveling to teach and perform demos. He creates beautiful bows and accessories with Choco-Pan . He specializes in detailed hand-painted cakes and chocolate molds. Zane is a real estate broker in Virginia and has worked with The Sweet Life for last sixteen years. He is married to Shazia and has two girls, Malayka who is 5 and enjoys working with fondant (Never too early to get children started), and Haaniah who is almost 2. Linda Bills


Linda owns the DO IT WITH ICING cake shop in San Diego. She has been decorating for 35 years and teaching for 25 years. She is a former Wilton instructor and has taught Cake Decorating and Gourmet Cooking in Adult Ed classes as well as Baking & Pastry in two Junior College Food Service Programs. Linda has taught at 5 previous Mini-Classes. She has won numerous awards including Best of Show 3 times. Linda has demonstrated in several states and has had 2 articles in American Cake Decorating Magazine. She has been featured on FoodNetwork's Top 5, and regularly appears on local San Diego television. Linda is Past President and currently the Advisor of the California Cake Club.

Debbie Brown


Debbie Brown is a well-known and one of the most prolific writers of cake sculpture and sugarcraft. Based in West London in the UK, she works in her studio writing and designing when she s not traveling the world extensively teaching and promoting cake sculpture and sugarcraft. Susan Carberry


Susan has been a cake decorator/designer for over 10 years. Eight of those years she was the lead designer for a bakery in Dana Point, California - helping it become one of the most sought out bakeries in Orange County. She left the bakery to pursue her own dreams, and recently opened her own shop - The Cake Cottage! Her edible works of art have won numerous awards, been featured in magazines, as well as on the Food Network's "Top Five" show.

Norman Davis


Norman, owner of The Sweet Life, Inc., a custom design cakery in Annandale, Virginia, and an award winning chocolatier. Norman is a member of ICES, GWAC, and is a charter member of CASANOVA. Norman is the former ICES representative and former cake club president for CASANOVA. He was the Show Cake Chairman for the 2004 ICES Convention in Washington, DC; he is currently a committee member of the annual Mid-Atlantic Cake Show and Wedding Cake Competition. Norman co-authored Wedding Cake Ensembles, Cakes for All Seasons and was commissioned by the Washington Post to create a cake for President Clinton. He has also been featured in Cake & Sugarcraft, Cake Craft & Decoration, Food Art, The Washington Post, Washingtonian, Pastry Art Design- Magazine, People Magazine (A Cake From Every State where he was chosen to represent VA), and has been frequently featured in American Cake Decorating Magazine. Norman has demoed at the Smithsonian, and he taught at Stratford College School of Culinary Arts. He is often featured on TV show Historic Tours and Recipes, and he has appeared on Fox 5 News. He has appeared on the Food Network Challenge s seven times. He participated in a Celebrity Cake Decorating Competition event with the T.J. Martell Foundation benefiting Leukemia. Christine Flinn


Experience: I am from the North East of England. I started cake decoration just over thirty years ago. I became an Accredited Demonstrator for the British Sugarcraft Guild in 1990 and now travel all over the UK demonstrating various aspects of sugarcraft. In October 1994, I was approached by Merehurst Fairfax to write a book on Extension work. The book is in the Sugarcraft Skills Series and was published in April 1996. I have since written various sugarcraft articles for Sugarcraft magazines, www.ladycakes.com and www.bsguk.org. I was one of tutors at www.ladycakes.com Retreat (held in Bakersfield California) in 2004, 2005, and 2007. In 2006 I had the privilege of being invited to be one of the demonstrators at the ICES Annual Cake Convention in Grapevine Texas.

Janet Foster


I have been a cake decorator for over 30 years, during this time I have taught at the Adult Education Schools in England for over 10 years and demonstrated too many of the British Sugarcraft Guild Branches all over England. I have been a member of the British Sugarcraft Guild since 1983 and worked on many committees within the Guild. I have taught and demonstrated classes in America, Australia, Japan and Canada. My work and designs have been published in the BSG News, Helen Sembra s Filigree Book, Finishing Touches and books in Japan and Australia. I have been a British Sugarcraft judge since 1985 and became a Chairman of Judges in 1995. I have won many sugarcraft competitions, the most rewarding being the Royal Iced Master class with a free standing Christmas tree. I was invited to exhibit on the Table of Honour at the last three British International Sugarcraft Exhibitions.

Toba Garrett


Toba Garrett is a renowned cake artist, teacher and author for 30+ years. She heads the department of cake decorating and design at the prestigious Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. She has been there for 15 years. She is the author of three books Creative Cookies Delicious Decorating for Any Occasion, The Well-Decorated Cake and Professional Cake Decorating. She is currently working on her 4th book.

Dianne Gruenberg


Dianne Gruenberg is the owner of AVENUES-Sweet Choices, Etc. In addition to 16 years of sugar craft teaching, she is an active cake show judge and demonstrator traveling nationwide. She has demonstrated at the British Sugar Craft Guild in England, and ICES for 6 years. She has a mail order business where she manufactures and markets cake decorating supplies. Her other credits include teaching at the local college, cake magazines, bridal magazine articles, television and newspaper features. Also, Dianne is the owner of AVENUES-Wedding Choices, Etc. Inc., where she is a professional wedding coordinator and her company is a full service wedding business, specializing in planning, reception decorating and custom European style cakes with handmade gum paste flowers.


Linda Hermann


Linda has been cake decorating and candy making for 25 years and she has owned and operated a successful cake and candy supply for 21 years. Linda has been a student of Betty Lloyd of Apollo Mold and Elaine Gonzales a chocolate arts educator and author, she has also given demonstrations for ICES, CCC, San Diego Cake Club, church groups, school districts, social clubs, cable TV and city functions.

Nicholas Lodge


Nicholas is one of the leading cake decorating instructors worldwide. His knowledge and techniques for life-like gumpaste flowers is unsurpassed. He has authored many books and videos. Nicholas has also been inducted into the ICES Hall of Fame. Recently Nicholas appeared as a noted judge on the FoodNetwork's Gingerbread Challange.

Amy Malone


Amy Malone is a charter member of ICES and owner of the Amy Malone School of Cake Decorating, which specializes in classes in cake decorating, cookie decorating and vegetable garnishes. She has been teaching for 33 years. Featured several times in American Cake Decorating, she has demonstrated at three ICES conventions, and taught at four previous cake camps.

Cecilia Morana


Cecilia Morana has been a cake decorating and cold porcelain teacher for more than 10 years. She owns and directs her cake decorating and cold porcelain school in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has participated as a cake decorating specialist in many magazines such as Utilisima (in Argentina) and American Cake Decorating. She directed a cake magazine from 2006-2007. She was a co-author of a book about Disney characters. Her first book "The Magic of Cake Decorating" was edited in Spain. She has taught in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, England, Canada, USA, Puerto Rico, Peru, Brazil, Ecquador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Uraguay, and Argentina.

Colette Peters


Colette Peters has been the owner of Colette's Cakes, a specialty cake company in New York City, for more than 20 years. She has written 5 books and teaches and demonstrates around the world. Colette won the Wedding Cake and Mystery Cake Challenges and has appeared as a judge for other challenges on the Food Network. She was also a feature presenter on the CCC Inaugural Cake Cruise in 2005.

Geraldine Randlesome


Geraldine is the author of 5 books, and owner of Creative Cutters, a supply and cake making company. She worked on cakes for Prince Charles and Lady Diana as well as the 25th Anniversary cake for Walt Disney World, Bob Mackie, Nina Ricci, Alfred Sung, and Perry Ellis. Geraldine was invited to Australia in 2005 to demo at their show.

Linda Reese


I have been decorating for 35 years and teaching for 34 years. I teach most mediums in cake decorating. I have taught and/or demonstrated across the United States and in other countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, England and South Africa. I have written articles for several cake decorating and bakery magazines including magazines in Australia, New Zealand and England. I have published two cake decorating books; one on hand modeling and the other on buttercream flowers and arranging. I currently have a computer CD set out on creating buttercream flowers. I thoroughly enjoy passing on my love for the art.

Ruth Rickey


Ruth is a former attorney who owns OKC s premier cake & sugar art shop. She has been featured on 3 Food Network specials from the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show. Ruth has competed in shows across the country and has won over 100 first place ribbons, as well as two Gold medals at the OSSAS. She operates the Oklahoma Sugar Art Academy, where she teaches and brings in outside teachers. Ruth also teaches across the country, bringing her love of sugar to those around her. Ruth s cakes have been featured in publications such as Elegant Bride Magazine, American Cake Decorating Magazine, Mailbox News (including 2 covers), Cakes & Sugarcraft and the 2008 Sugarcraft Calendar. Ruth is a longtime member of ICES and currently serves on the ICES Board of Directors.

Becky Rink


Owner of About the Cake in Avon Ohio, Becky's passion for decorating stems from her childhood. Specializing in sculpted and unusual cakes, she has received several awards for her work. Kathy Scott


Kathy is a teacher, judge and shop owner. She has been ICES President twice and is the 2011 North Carolina ICES Co-Show Director. She has taught cake decorating throughout the Country. She has won many best of Show trophies.. She has been doing fondant cakes for over 15 years when her expertise was in Australian Wedding Cakes. Her sculpture work has been widely publicized along with her creative Introduction to the decorating world with the creation of the mini wedding cake and Petit Four mats and new side design mats.

Fay Shanholtzer


Fay formerly owned and operated Mod Shop of Cake Decorating in Bakersfield, CA for 22 years. She has taught cake decorating for over 35 years, which includes the Wilton Method and Lambeth Technique. Fay has taught at several CCC Mini Classes. She is a former ICES Board Member and past President of CCC, and current Board Member. She was founder of Frosting Bells Cake Club in Bakersfield.

Diane Shavkin


Diane has been decorating for 38 years. Her woodgraining and gum paste miniatures and woodland scenes is internationally know as well as her other techniques that she innovated and introduced to the confectionery arts: "Brush Embroidery", "Pop-Up Flowers" and "Keepsake Cakes - Impressions in Relief". She had a seasonal, part-time candy business for 22 years making chocolate houses, centerpieces, lollipops and other popular items using her 3-D, chocolate painting technique. She has taught, demonstrated and judged cake shows in Canada and throughout the United States. Diane received the "Wilbur Brand Memorial Award" in 1998 for exceptional services to "The International Cake Exploration Societe" (ICES). She is presently a vendor and plans on being a vendor at the 2008 ICES convention in Orlando. Steven Stellingwerf


Steven has been a sugar artist for over 35 years and instructor for ocer 25 years. he had judged and demonstrated here in America and internationally. He has authored two books: The Gingerbread Box, and Perfectly Simple Muffins. He is a guest author in The International Sugar Art Book 3. He is currently the ICES State Rep for South Dakota. His love of sugar art shows in his enthusiasm to teach the art.


Bronwen Weber


Bronwen Weber's stellar career in decorating arts began as a small girl making mud pies on the playground. At fourteen, she accepted her first job in a small bakery in Acton, Ontario where she honed her skills and learned the business. Bronwen moved to Texas and started a name for herself working in small, notable bakeries around the state. For almost 10 years, she worked in Randalls Food Market's bakeries; moving up from production employee to management, and finally as a trainer for cake decorators and bakery management. Bronwen has competed in eight Food Network Challenges, earning three gold, four silver, and one bronze medal - making her the most medaled competitor in the series. As a past Pastry Chef Instructor at the Texas Culinary Academy in Austin, Bronwen taught cake decorating, chocolate work, candy arts, and sugar to the schools' students in the Patisserie and Baking program. She continues to teach nationally and internationally several times a year. ! Currently she is the Executive Chef and General Manager of Frosted Art Bakery and Studio in Dallas.

Marsha Winbeckler


Marsha J. Winbeckler, resident of Redding, California, was the editor of the "Winbeckler's Cake and Candy Chronicle" newsletter for 17 years and was the ICES Newsletter Editor for over 13 years. She has been decorating for 26 years and teaching for 25. Marsha is also the author of several cake decorating books and a candy video. She has taught or demonstrated throughout the US and in Australia, Jamaica and Canada.

Roland Winbeckler


Roland A. Winbeckler, resident of Redding, California, has won two gold medals at the World Culinary Olympics held in Frankfurt, Germany, is an ICES Hall of Famer, and has made several national TV appearances. Roland has been decorating for 34 years. He is the author of many cake decorating books and videos. He has taught or demonstrated throughout the U.S. and in Canada, Australia and Jamaica.
